When he was around, we knew we were safe

A Loved one Shares Memories of Jared

The biggest brother of our crew. The biggest brother in the homes we grew up in.

In childhood, ten of us depended on him for protection and guidance. When he was around, we knew we were safe.

After growing up together, we spent our teen years together as well, in the same group of friends. All of us, also felt protected by him. He was known to protect anyone and anything with his life.

After that lifestyle, we became adult friends. Babies, relationships, sobriety, healing and finding our sense of belonging in culture, were the last steps of our journey together.

To call Jared a brother, would be an understatement. We share the same favourite adult of all time the one person in the world we trust, our Uncle Kevin.

We have shared so many traumatic, life altering experiences together and remained friends, close more than family, friends. I still cannot bring myself to speak of Jared in past tense.

He would never let anyone hurt me. With his spiritual presence, I can no longer let anyone hurt me either.

My brother, my friend, my companion. In his life, he brought me protection, care, love and support. In his demise, he changed my life for the better.

Violence is not the answer. He will not die in vain. BIG JAY the biggest brother in eastvan
